February 2, 2007: Rhino Client Sneak Peek

Loyal users - the above screen shot is a preview from our labs of a COM+ Add-in to Outlook 2003/2007 that handles automatic Meeting Reply processing without running afoul of the Incremental Change System defects in Cached Exchange Mode (aka the dreaded "Conflict Message").
Actually you can run this without having Rhino Server installed (so meeting requests won't get processed, but you can automate your meeting replies).

AUTOMATICALLY
Trample unwanted and unnecessary meeting replies and acknowledgements with Rhino Event Sink.
You run Microsoft Exchange and Outlook to save time.
But dealing with all of the Acknowledge emails from Exchange saps time, distracts away from the email you want to deal with, and results in some bad user behavior (like canceling meetings without sending updates). The bigger your organization the more time it's losing dealing with this.
You can't automatically delete these acknowledgements without losing valuable information especially on your Tracking tab, and client side scripts are hard to distribute and maintain.
Based on feedback from a 10,000 user Exchange client, Sumatra Development has created Rhino Event Sink™, an Exchange-based event sink that automatically deals with the acknowledge emails from Exchange / Outlook scheduling, without losing any information.
Rhino saves your entire user base time by:
- Automatically processing all "All attendees have accepted" messages
- Clearing all these messages from your Inbox
- Updating availability and Free/Busy information
- Allows only Declines and Acceptances with messages into your INBOX.
For the Exchange Administrator Rhino:
- Is completely server-based, so you don't need to update clients
- Is simple to set-up
- Runs server-side so users don't need to be logged in
- Has a full-featured trial version (please, run this in your test lab before putting it on your production system)
For the Former Steltor CorporateTime / Oracle Calendar Site:
- Can automatically accept all invitations as Tentative
- Can then leave all invitations in the Inbox
For the Former Meeting Maker site:
- Can automatically accept meeting invitations / responses
- Cuts down on the message traffic you're not used to
Does it work? Yes. Just look at the screenshots.
